BCS Day 2017 To Be Observed With Community Interaction Programs

Bhutanese Community In Syracuse (BCS), Inc., has announced the details of its annual day celebrations for the third week of March 2017.

BCS has been observing the annual day in March every year coinciding with the month of the arrival of the first family in Syracuse in March 2008. It has been customary to mark the BCS day with the highlights of the current and future activities of the organization, among many. However, it has been learnt that this year’s event will be observed in a different way.

BCS To Resume Nepali Class

January 31, 2017

Bhutanese Community in Syracuse (BCS), Inc. will resume the Nepali class in the first week of February 2017.

According to the statement issued by the education wing of BCS, the Nepali classes were suspended temporarily for few months. The classes will be offered for free to the community members especially to the students of elementary level.

BCS Partners With County For Community Awareness

Bhutanese Community In Syracuse (BCS), Inc., has partnered with Onondaga County Board Of Elections to organize a two hour long voting awareness session for its community members on Saturday, October 22 from 2pm.

According to the Board of Director of BCS, this get together entitled “Let’s Vote This Year” has been organized especially to the new citizens who are expected to vote in the presidential election in November. It has been learnt from the new citizens that they do not know how to cast the vote in a correct way. The event is expected to attract around 100 new citizens that have acquired the US citizenship through naturalization.

Community Pilgrimage To NJ Applauded by Many

Bhutanese Community In Syracuse (BCS) organized for its community members a one day trip to BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in New Jersey in the third week of September 2016.

According to Ajaya Sapkota, Director of Religion and Culture, this trip was organized especially for the elderly people that have been confined in their residence and would not have been able to visit the temple otherwise.

BCS To Organize Blood Donation Drive

September 14, 2016

Bhutanese Community In Syracuse (BCS), Inc., and American Red Cross Society will be jointly organizing the blood Donation Camp on Friday, October 07, 2016 from 2pm to 7pm.

According to Bikash Regmi, the coordinator of the event, the blood donation camp has been organized for the first time within the Bhutanese-Nepalese community in Syracuse and it has been gladly anticipated by everyone.

BCS and Onondage County Initiate Programs For Elders

Bhutanese Community In Syracuse (BCS), Inc., distributed Farmer Market coupons to thirty five elderly people of the community on Wednesday, August 10 at the agency’s office at 710 Kirkpatrick St. The coupons were provided by the Onondaga County Department of Adult & Long Term Care Services.

According to Parsu Dhimal, Director of Social Service and Elders, a coupon worth 20 dollar was distributed to 35 elders over the age of sixty.

Pramod Kharel To Perform During Teej Celebrations In Syracuse

Bhutanese Community In Syracuse (BCS), Inc. has announced the details of the Teej celebrations 2016.

According to the Women and Children department of BCS, the celebrations will take place on September 3rd from 11am. The celebration will be similar to the last year with dances and songs from different people from within the community.

“We have a plan to include four dances this time”, added Mrs. Kiran Gautam that the participants are required to submit their names by the 14th of this month.

BCS Calls For A Mass Meeting

Bhutanese Community In Syracuse (BCS), Inc. has invited all community members for a general meeting in the first week of June 2016.

The mass meeting targeted to all Bhutanese-Nepalese residing in Syracuse will be conducted in two dates. The first meeting will be held on June 04 from 5pm onwards. The meeting has been expected to continue for two hours.

Director Nalbo To Screen “Rato Ghar” In Syracuse

Bhutanese Community in Syracuse (BCS), Inc will be hosting an event entitled “Let’s Get Together” and screen the movie “Rato Ghar” on April 10 (Sunday) from noon until 0400pm at Franklin Elementary School.

The community members will get a chance to meet and greet Suraj Subba Nalbo, a noted Nepali film maker as well. In the first part of the show, the audiences will be thrilled to watch a very unique performances of artists from within BCS.
